Are Hair Dressers The New Frozen Yogurt?
Recently I noticed several high end hair dressers opening up shop around town. Since I have been going to the same guy for 25 years, this is a service I never think about, but it appears that they are some of the lucky few that can afford the rents. For now. (Or is it possible they've always been here and I just haven't noticed? If so, move on.)

I've noticed this too, Jill...lots of newish hair salons and Asian spas (though that Bodyworks place on Avenue B near 12th Street was shutdown...)
As for the hair salons, I saw a chalkboard sign for one on Ave. A advertising men's haircuts for $60...as if that was some kind of bargain worth highlighting on a busy sidewalk....
