The shark is on Ave D & 10th St in front of a deli. The mural is between C&D, possibly on 2nd Street? 4th? Not 3rd St, I know that. I can't remember. I have no memory for these kinds of things. It's in a row of 3 small buildings with very interesting fronts with handmade metal railings and murals. They look like they might have at one time been squats, maybe still are. Rickety and beautiful.

I am particularly fond of the blue bathing suit in the tree. Perfection.

The mural is on 4th St. I took a pic of it once and posted it in a 'guess where NYC' game on Flickr and was surprised that no one had a clue where it was. Any idea who painted it and why?
