Overheard

I like that site Overheard in NY. Last night I had a doozy of a fella sitting at the table next to me at dinner on Avenue A. From his conversation, I think he is a cop. He was full of good ones.


1. His date showed him her phone, the news feed that Betty Ford had died. He said, I get all that on my twitter: Washington Post, CNN, ABC, The White House, George Snufalufagus...

2. But even with his news feed, did he know who Betty Ford is? "Hmmm.... I associate her with Reagan's wife, what was her name?"

3. And his sense of geography? "When I was in the service I lived in the midwest, in Kentucky and Tennessee..."
