Did you get to ride on the vintage train when they ran it every weekend for a month last year?It was pretty cool. I think Eden Bee has images of it on her blog.
I would have loved to do that, but I didn't hear about it until it was too late. Next time. Also I think it's time for a trip to the transit museum.

Around 1am at Penn Station, this old train housed the cleaning crew.
