Get More Jealous

Tomorrow's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert has turned into something much better than I would have thought. I have little interest in U2, and was disappointed that Eric Clapton has a gallstone problem and is a no show. But who is now showing up?

I can't quite figure it out. The emails and websites have been notoriously unclear. But I think it's a fact that Jeff Beck is replacing Clapton, which would have been more exciting if I hadn't seen him play just this past summer. Naturally I was hoping for Jimmy Page to step up. Jeff Beck will be joined by someone from ZZ Top (?! I'll judge that one after I see it.) When I told this to my coworkers, two of them said, "Oh I LOVE Beck." No, not Beck, Jeff Beck, sorry dude.

Then there was the question of who is playing with Metallica. It think Ozzy is confirmed, but there are other names rolling around such as Lou Reed (that makes no sense, but it's what I heard), Annie Lennox and/or Lenny Kravitz.

What a mixed up bag of musical tastes.

As I write this, I realize that the lack of clarity and rumors is probably because nobody actually knows for sure who is playing. Plus, the swine flu emergency is distracting me.

Whoever winds up on the stage, I have a feeling it will be a far better night than tonight with Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, and some other lame-oes.

I can't remember the last time I went to MSG for a concert. The sticky floors and hard seats might give me flashbacks.

Simon & Garfunkel are not "lame-oes"
And Simon sang that night with Dion.
Ever heard Bookends?
You better watch it, some fan will kick your ass, punk!

Springsteen is in fact lame-o.
