Today I cleaned my son's room. This is a scary and very small room, and we're lucky to have it. He set it up so the floor was taken up by a sectional foam couch, spread out. His desk is on the other side of this couch, so you can't reach it without stepping on the foam. Herewith a list of what I found on the floor, or in otherwise unwise locations, when (and after) folding up the couch:
- 7 socks
- 3 pencils
- 2 pairs underwear
- 1 pajama pants
- 5 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
- 1 english muffin
- 1 empty glass (Chinese honey jar glass)
- 3 pennies
- 2 dimes
- many, many candy and gum wrappers
- 2 lighters
- 1 wooden skewer
- slightly damp and melted silly putty coating the back of the couch (it never ever dries)
- 1 AA battery
- ipod in case, under desk
- 2nd page of a 2 page essay
- cow keychain that moos when you press the little button (no key chain, just the cow)
- rumpled sheet under 4 blankets
- tiny little spring
- 1 unopened small bottle of grape juice
- 1 fruit leather
- 2 foil gum wrappers, folded into tiny, perfect spheres
- 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, folded, filled with ink monster drawings
- several long balloons, the kind you make balloon animals from
- a few sticks of incense
- 1 small screw

And a partridge in a pear tree
What? No secret stash of porn? Tsk!
5 pb&j's? Were they moldy?
No they were not moldy, but they were very flat in their plastic bags. According to Max they were not all that old, maybe a week or two. And after I tried to shame him about not eating his lunch, he and his friends ATE four of them (yes they did). I threw the fifth one away after he put it in the fridge.
