Dairyland Jubilee, No Culture

After trying to find a way to upload a song for playback, I gave up (copyright laws and the napster scandal suppressed uploading of music) and instead threw together slides of Marc's paintings so that I could add the audio portion without having a blank screen so that I could put this song on this blog. Maybe one day he will figure out how to crop the rest of his paintings and I could change this to new paintings. Don't hold your breath on that one, but if it ever happens I hope to be able to share them with you.

I love the recording.

How about telling us where this is from?
Like, when was it recorded?
Who are the people involved?
Who is doing what?
Who wrote the tune?

Is it true at all the surviving Daiylanders still live in a rustic urban commune somewhere in Alphabet City in NYC?

Good point Mr. Slade. This song was recorded in NY in 1983 or 1984. Written by Mark Ashwill. Vocals: Marc Aserlind; Lead Guitar: Jared Kotz; Other Guitar: Janice Sloane; Bass: Jim Waters; Drums: Mark Ashwill. Produced by Jim Waters (maybe?).

Jim lives in Arizona, Mark died in 2000, and the other 3 still live in a decaying alphabet city hovel on the 6th floor.

Yep, Mark Ashwill died. A surprise to me. I visited Marc Aserlind in 84,and again in the early 90's. Sigh, haven't been in contact since. He's a good shit.
