It seems that Jeffrey's Meat Market at the Essex Street Market has closed, at least temporarily. You can read about it here. I am hoping he comes back soon, as he is the last butcher even close to the East Village. I have half a pound of bacon left in the freezer, so I'm doing that thing that isn't praying but would be praying if I believed in prayer, that he will reopen before the bacon gone. Where else can you buy meat and get a big, flirty grin at the same time? Nowhere I tell you, nowhere.
